Emily Hansen, AMI 0-3 Trainer-in-Training

Emily’s interest in Montessori began when she observed her Aunt Kathy’s Primary class right after college. Amazed at the children’s joy, capabilities, tranquility, and self-directed learning, she knew she wanted to learn more about this pedagogy. Emily began working at the Post Oak School in Houston, Texas in 2004. She began as a substitute teacher, experiencing all levels at the school. She soon went on to pursue her Primary training under Dr. Annette Haines in St. Louis, MO. She also holds an M.Ed in Montessori Education from Loyola University. Emily was a lead guide in Primary for 7 years, during which she began training at the Assistants to Infancy level at TMI in Denver. Emily is now in her 9th year as a lead guide in a Toddler classroom and is completing the AMI Training of Trainer’s program at the Assistants to Infancy level. When she’s not pursuing her Montessori passion, Emily enjoys spending time with her family (husband Kyle, teenage children Sophia and Aidric, and their three dogs) on road trips around the country.
