Head of School | Little Oak Montessori | White Salmon, WA

 

Job Description: 

Little Oak Montessori is seeking a new Head of School, beginning July 2024, to provide continued vision and leadership. The Head of School will support and evaluate teachers, leverage school resources to foster a student-centered learning environment, and communicate with and support the involvement of parents. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Head of School is an instructional leader with a background in and passion for Montessori education. To assure a cohesive program, the Head actively collaborates with the teachers, parents, and admin to manage the school-wide program and other aspects of the school’s mission and learning principles. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as demonstrated abilities to lead within a collaborative environment and work effectively with teams.

community in realizing its vision and executing its strategic plan.

The ideal candidate will also be:

  • A team player who has a warm, collaborative nature, positive energy, and sense of humor

  • A leader with business acumen and a solid understanding of independent school financial management, able to prepare and manage a budget to meet financial goals.

  • A self-starter with a high degree of proven proficiency to effectively maintain and improve upon the school’s systems and operations.

  • Able to embrace Montessori at all levels, the school’s mission, history, and traditions and communicates and connects with members of the school community. 

  • Able to build relationships by seeking input, truly listening to various constituency groups, and understanding the importance of open and direct communication.

  • Experienced with a Master’s degree in education or related field, with a minimum of 3 years experience in non-profit or business leadership

  • Committed to Montessori education, with a background in Montessori education or AMI Montessori certification
