Job Description:
Little Oak Montessori is seeking a new Head of School, beginning July 2024, to provide continued vision and leadership. The Head of School will support and evaluate teachers, leverage school resources to foster a student-centered learning environment, and communicate with and support the involvement of parents. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Head of School is an instructional leader with a background in and passion for Montessori education. To assure a cohesive program, the Head actively collaborates with the teachers, parents, and admin to manage the school-wide program and other aspects of the school’s mission and learning principles. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as demonstrated abilities to lead within a collaborative environment and work effectively with teams.

The ideal candidate will also be:
A team player who has a warm, collaborative nature, positive energy, and sense of humor
A leader with business acumen and a solid understanding of independent school financial management, able to prepare and manage a budget to meet financial goals.
A self-starter with a high degree of proven proficiency to effectively maintain and improve upon the school’s systems and operations.
Able to embrace Montessori at all levels, the school’s mission, history, and traditions and communicates and connects with members of the school community.
Able to build relationships by seeking input, truly listening to various constituency groups, and understanding the importance of open and direct communication.
Experienced with a Master’s degree in education or related field, with a minimum of 3 years experience in non-profit or business leadership
Committed to Montessori education, with a background in Montessori education or AMI Montessori certification
