Lead Lower Elementary Teacher | First United Methodist Church of Celina | Celina, TX
Job Description: Position Overview: The Certified Lead Teacher is responsible for overseeing the educational program and creating a supportive learning environment for students in lower elementary grades K-3. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about personalized education, curriculum development, and fostering a love for learning among young learners. The Lead Teacher will work closely with a small group of students to deliver high-quality instruction tailored to their individual needs and interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the educational goals.
Instructional Delivery: Facilitate engaging and interactive lessons across various subjects, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assess student progress regularly using a range of formative and summative assessment methods.
Individualized Learning Plans: Develop and maintain individualized learning plans for each student.
Classroom Management: Establish clear expectations for behavior and learning, and implement positive behavior management strategies to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in education, attend relevant workshops or training sessions, and actively seek opportunities for professional growth and improvement.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members, including teaching assistants or support personnel, to support student learning and enhance the overall effectiveness of the program.
Communication: Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a related field
Valid Texas teaching certification (Generalist EC-6)
Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate pedagogical practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
Passion for innovation in education and a commitment to continuous improvement
Familiarity with technology integration in the classroom is a plus
Montessori training and/or experience preferred
Montessori credential from a MACTE accredited center and/or experience preferred
